We Can See Clearly Now... With a Rolling Whiteboard!
My students need a rolling magnetic whiteboard so instruction can be provided at different locations in the classroom depending on student grouping and need.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in a Fourth/Fifth grade, self-contained, special education classroom in a high poverty neighborhood in the South Bronx.
The students have been classified learning disabled or speech impaired.
Many of the students are English Language Learners, and all are performing several years below grade level in all subject areas. While the students and the school face many of the challenges that seem to come with a high poverty neighborhood, the students are happy, motivated, and the school does a great job, under the circumstances of creating a safe, comfortable haven in the midst of periodic violence and chaos.
My Project
Children learn what they can see. Having a rolling magnetic whiteboard will allow students to see the concepts and information they need to learn from virtually anyplace in the classroom. The whiteboard can be used for targeted instruction with a small group by being rolled to a pod of desks or can be used to hang charts for whole class instruction. Because the whiteboard is double-sided, we can keep our Sound Wall on the back of the whiteboard and flip the board when needed for easy reference. The whiteboard is large enough for all students to be able to copy and use information for independent work.
Having the whiteboard on wheels and magnetic allows the classroom and instruction to be flexible so that the desk structure and learning spaces can be moved to accommodate the activity and student needs.
Teachable moments are happening all throughout the day so instead of having to constantly shift and move charts on the wall to make sure the students can see it, the whiteboard can be moved to where the learning is happening capturing these learning moments!
