Your contribution has had an immeasurable impact on the lives of more than 50 students in my classroom and throughout the school.\r\n\r\nAs you are aware, the unexpected closure of government services left many families in a difficult position, unable to provide the regular snacks that are essential to our students' daily routines and well-being. For 40 days, many of our students faced the challenge of coming to school without the nourishment they needed to stay focused, energized, and healthy.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness and dedication, we were able to provide these students with healthy and nourishing snacks, ensuring that they could continue to thrive academically and emotionally. Your contribution not only filled a physical need but also showed these students that they are valued and cared for, even in times of hardship.\r\n\r\nThe positive effects of your generosity were immediately noticeable. With consistent access to snacks, students were able to focus better in class, engage more in their learning, and participate in activities without the distraction of hunger. Moreover, the emotional boost they received from knowing that their needs were being met helped foster a sense of security and community within the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1763551930162,"projectUrl":"project/no-hungry-minds-providing-snacks-for-gr/9887411/","projectTitle":"No Hungry Minds: Providing Snacks for Growing Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Boston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3365140_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1601679513101","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3365140"},{"teacherId":3365140,"projectId":9857691,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our 8:1:2 class! Their excitement and smiles said it all—they look forward to this special part of the day and enjoy trying something new. The snacks you provided will last us over two months, and each day, the children eagerly anticipate snack time as a highlight of their routine.\r\n\r\nThis project has also had a powerful impact on families. Many parents, who sometimes struggle to provide snacks, were deeply moved knowing their child will never feel left out or sad at school. Thanks to your generous donations, our learning environment has been transformed into a space that is not only more functional and safer, but also more welcoming, sensory-friendly, and engaging for every child who walks through our door.\r\n\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful moments came when we unwrapped the VECELO rocking chair and placed it in our quiet corner alongside the sensory mats and kids' couch. One of my students, who often struggles with self-regulation, immediately gravitated to this area. After only a few days, this space became his go-to for calming down and resetting.\r\n\r\nThe sensory beads, walking rope, have been key tools during our morning sensory integration activities. These tools help my students regulate their energy levels and emotions before we begin our lessons, improving their focus and ability to participate throughout the day. Additionally, the snacks have been a huge motivator and support for students who need frequent breaks or rewards for transitioning and completing tasks.\r\n\r\nOur classroom walls are now lined with colorful, motivational decals that remind my students daily These positive messages are powerful especially for children who need extra encouragement and reassurance throughout the day.\r\nWe are currently working on a unit about emotions and personal space, where students use the sensory area to explore how their bodies feel when they're happy, sad, overwhelmed, or excited. These materials have allowed us to design more hands-on, meaningful experiences around that lesson.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our students are thriving. They feel more secure, supported, and ready to learn.
