My Project

Hello, I am requesting these phonemic awareness and reading practice items to help improve my students' reading levels. The phonemic awareness will help my beginning readers to have a solid foundation in their reading skills to become stronger readers and move on to phonics and decoding. The high-interest reading folders will give my students who are reading a new and fun way to access information and build their comprehension skills.

My goal for this project is to support and help my students develop a love for reading.

They will also learn how to read to get information. Having these items in the classroom will allow me to run small intervention groups within my classroom based on individual student's needs. Not only will I be able to use them to work with my students in small groups based on need, but my students will be able to access the materials so that they can practice independently to further the development of their reading skills and reading independence. This will help me to reach my professional goal of all students growing one grade level in their reading scores by the end of the school year.

My students are hard-working and crave information. Our classroom library is sadly lacking enough information that they long for. They love hands-on learning and manipulating materials to feed their love of multisensory learning. In addition to loving hands-on materials, they adore research. Most research requires reading and reading to understand. They will be able to use these materials to develop life skills of gathering information and feeding their love of learning.
