We Can Read... But Need Some Help!

My students need a variety of literacy materials to build their basic reading skills in order to improve their reading abilities.

This project is fully funded

I teach first grade in a Title One school where the students are eager to learn, but supplies and materials are limited.

My students enjoy the reading in the classroom, but without materials to improve their basic reading skills, my students struggle to improve. If we had more hands-on activities to enhance their ability to sound out words and to understand how words work, they would be able to increase their reading abilities.

The materials I am looking to add to my classroom are simple reading games and activities. These are things the students can use together while working in centers and small groups, and even as a whole group. I have many students who are hands-on learners, and with out a game to play to further reinforce whole class instruction, I worry that some students will fall behind.

With your help, my students will be able to see that reading is something that can come to them easier, and can be enjoyable for all of them. All of their learning is based on being able to read. By building their reading ability early on, they will continue to succeed in all areas in the years to come.
