My students are energetic, bright-eyed, caring 3rd graders who come to school each day ready and eager to learn.
Our school serves the most economically impacted elementary students within our school district.
100% of the students in our school are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch. Our families work hard to provide for their children.
My students love to express their creativity through art and they deserve access to quality art supplies rather than the bits and pieces that I have accumulated over the years. They deserve the opportunity to learn in a safe environment, temporarily escape life's hardships and have fun. As Kid President might say, they deserve to be "Awesome" and make the world more awesome by being in it!
My Project
With such a strong emphasis on reading and math, it is easy to overlook the importance of non-core subjects, such as art. These oil pastels, watercolor pencils, and card stock will provide my students with the opportunity to use different mediums and experiment with different artistic techniques.
Art is a powerful means of expression and can positively impact the life of a child in poverty.
My students deserve the opportunity to explore their artistic talents and escape into the amazing world of art. Please help me make my students' lives just a little brighter by helping bring the world of art into our classroom.
