We Can Learn Virtually Anywhere!

My Students

My students are all virtual this year while others in our building are in person. They chose virtual for a variety of reasons. Our day always begins with a google meet where they talk to each other, tell stories, and we talk about the lessons for the day. I truly miss seeing my students in person everyday.

The majority of my students live with grandparents or chose to stay home for health concerns.

It is not uncommon for students to come to second grade on a first-grade level. Because of this, it seems that we are playing catch up for most of the year.

Luckily, I teach in a wonderful school where teachers are willing to share resources and do whatever it takes to help students achieve success. Although many of my students are facing various challenges including broken homes, being raised by grandparents and high poverty, they are very motivated learners.

My Project

Things have changed so much in the last 9 months. My students went from being at school with their teachers, principal, and friends to now learning at home with family. Normally, my students would get rewards like stickers and candy and hands on materials all of the time.

Now, this is almost almost virtually impossible.

With your help, I will be sending my students hands on materials like scratch pads, candy, and stickers in the envelopes and stamps in this project. We will then use the scratch pads to create items to send to a friend. The stamps and envelopes in this project will help me send my students hands on materials for learning and play! They need to be rewarded for all of the hard work they put in everyday!
