This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello, I am a Mild/Moderate Special Day Class teacher and this year I am teaching 7th grade math! We are a hardworking class who support each other and celebrate all wins. Even mistakes are viewed as successes because they help us learn.

Our class acknowledges and honor individual learning modes; each student has a unique set of learning needs and strengths!

This year I have 15 individual learners. With the help of a talented and kindhearted Paraprofessional, these exceptional students and acquiring new math skills each day.

My Project

When students have access to flexible seating, focus and attention to classroom tasks goes up! This is especially true for exceptional needs learners like those in my Mild to Moderate SDC Math class. At this time, my school has been able to equip my students with beautiful new desks and chairs. Trust me, it was a big upgrade from the decades old furniture we had been working on.

Now, I would love to be able to introduce some high quality flexible seating options for my students.

The flexible seating options I have chosen were hand picked with each of my students in mind. I have chosen items that will also support students who are impacted my sensory challenges.

The items on this list will not only help with focus and attention, but also with sensory regulation. These truly are items that will have a high value impact on my students for years to come! Thank you for your consideration and support.
