My Students

I teach science to eighth graders at a suburban school in Arizona. My students crave knowledge and experiences that make science come alive for them. They are bright, talented, and fun.

My students are taking physics and chemistry in eighth grade.

That's an amazing accomplishment and it's by choice that they are in the class. Their hunger for knowledge knows no bounds. These students are the scientists, mathematicians, engineers and computer geeks of tomorrow. They are ready to take on the world.

My Project

My students have been learning physics from home since July. They are doing a terrific job, but it is difficult to understand physics concepts by reading about the concepts. With these materials, my students will have physics kits.

Each student will have a turn to spend several weeks exploring and investigating the physics behind a variety of items.

What makes the non-pop bubbles stay unpopped? How does the no-spill apparatus work? Why does the rattleback always spin counterclockwise? Below the equator, does it spin clockwise? The students will be able to come up with their own questions and investigate those as well.
