My Students

Our class has known since day one in our classroom that we are a class family. We have learned that all of us are different and that's what makes us so great! Many of my students come from low-income families. My students all have different strengths. Some are passionate about reading and writing, while others are passionate about math, science, or art. We all learn differently. I am constantly trying to make our classroom into a place that promotes learning for every child.

My Project

Headphones are used daily in our classroom. My students enjoy using the different online programs we have. The majority of these programs require them to listen to what the program is saying. Some students have brought headphones from home. Other students don't have the means to bring their own headphones. They have been using old, unreliable ones that I borrowed from another teacher. When these headphones don't work, students have to get up and try a new pair or ask for help. If we don't have enough, they have to listen to it quietly out loud. This can cause major distractions in a 2nd grade classroom.

These headphones would ensure that every student is getting equal access to and use of the online programs we use.

Students can better focus on learning instead of technology issues. It will help me be able to focus on academic needs rather than problems with headphones. Overall, these headphones will allow more learning to take place. Thank you!
