My Students

As a teacher of students in low income/single-parent family homes, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. The students in my classroom have a range of different abilities.

Living in low income/single-parent family homes may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may deprive them of life experiences many of us see as "typical".

From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

With your generous donation my classroom will have safe high chairs for our students to sit in when they are eating. This will encourage them to become more self sufficient and independent. Also with these chairs my students will have a place to sit during art activities so that they can create their masterpieces.

Giving low income students access to new classroom materials is an investment in their future.

I cannot wait to see the bright smiles on these children's faces when they receive the new materials for their classroom. Thank you for your support and your generous donation to our classroom!
