Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in an urban area. All my students receive free lunch. They often lack the basic needs that we take for granted. They come to school hungry and unprepared to learn. Their parents cannot provide them with the basic tools they need to succeed in school. Many of my students, who are only eight years old, have already attended two or three schools.

My students come to school curious, wanting to learn and explore in a place that is safe and caring.

I do this by creating an environment that fosters their natural love for learning, a place where they can feel secure and cared about.

My Project

My students love playing math games during center time. VersaTiles is the perfect solution: it's fun and the kids can do it independently. VersaTiles Math includes twenty-four student activity books title, thirty-two pages, eight answer cases, and one teacher guide.

VersaTiles is an alternative to traditional skills practice.

It creates a safe learning environment that increases student confidence. It is a low-prep classroom solution.

Students can independently answer questions, flip and check their work, open and self-correct, and match!

The grade three kit covers multiply and divide: problem solving, fractions: fractions as numbers, measurement and data: use and interpret data, geometric measurement: perimeter and area, and geometry shapes and attributes.
