My students need 32 lapboards, dry-erase markers, post-its, 32 privacy partitions, and 5 book buddy bags to help them be their own person and do their own work in the classroom.
Have you ever had someone look over your shoulder? Have you ever wanted a space of your own? Have you even wanted to have something that was yours and yours alone? In classrooms, these days, students don't always get their own space and many times have to share their supplies.
My students live in a multicultural, poverty stricken area.
They are third-grade English Language Learners. Our school is made up of very caring teachers, but we aren't able to supply all the things that our students need to make the ultimate learning environment.
My Project
I would like to help my students get to have the best learning experience that they can. It's the little changes in a classroom that can make the biggest differences. I would like my students to be able to have sturdy Book Buddy Bags and lots of post-it notes for reading time, so that they can keep their books protected and be able to take notes in their books. They would benefit from also having lapboards and dry erase markers for math time, so that they can practice math problems and I can have quick checks to see who needs more help. In addition, they also need privacy partitions so that they can have their own space during tests and when they want to have privacy from their classmates. There are so many advantages my students will have if they are granted these items.
My students will greatly benefit by growing to understand how important and rewarding it is to be able to do their own work and have the ability to work on their own without distraction.
I think that the little changes in my classroom that will be made with the use of lapboards, dry erase markers, Book Buddy Bags, post-its, and privacy partitions will bring about great achievement.
