it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been teaching 6th grade English Language Learners for almost 30 years. Every year, more and more students come to my classroom with limited reading skills. Effective reading instruction incorporates five components including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Many of my students need to receive support in phonics and fluency before they can tackle grade level texts.
I want to create a rich print environment that is beneficial in bridging the gap for my students, especially those who may have language acquisition challenges.
