Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a sweet bunch full of excitement and are ready to learn, explore, and take care our earth.

This year, our class is learning all about insects and life cycles.

We are also learning about habitats and how plants and insects survive.

To engage my first grade scholars, I would like to get real insects for our classroom like butterflies and ladybugs. Not only are the insects a needed addition to our environment by spreading pollen, and eating aphids. Our class will observe insects as they move, eat and grow. They will read books and learn through hands on experiences. These insects are a helpful addition to our science activities and to our Earth. I would also like to teach students on the importance of planting seeds and growing your own gardens. They will have the opportunity to experience science through real life experiences.
