This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every day, my desire is that my students come to class ready and excited to learn. I welcome all of my students with a "Good Morning" greeting and a smile. During the course of the school day my students are encouraged when they make mistakes. I want them to know that I not only care about their academic skills, but I want them to know that I care about their character and the choices they make everyday.
Many students in my classroom say that they have difficulty completing assignments in the classroom because of lack of headphones.
It is difficult to hear their device with all of the other students working on their devices at the same time. 21st Century learners need to learn the skills necessary to use digital tools provided. These skills include how to use the software and applications provided to accomplish assigned tasks.
My Project
It is my job to prepare my students for their future. It is imperative that I provide them not only with 21st century technology but the digital skills to use the technology successfully. These headphones will be used during the course of the school day, for accessing videos during math and social-science lessons and completing interactive language arts lessons. During reading, students will listen to anthology stories while following appropriate digital curricula that support students' learning digital skills, digital responsibility, and critical thinking.
Our success will be evidence when all students are accessing and demonstrating proficiency with age-appropriate digital curricula.
