My Project

I love and adore everything about my 5th grade scholars and each of them is uniquely different in their own way. I’ve built relationships with these scholars during their 4th grade school year and this school year, I’ve been afforded the opportunity to teach the majority of these scholars for 5th grade. Last year, I taught them 4th grade Math and this school year I am teaching them 5th grade Science thanks to my wonderful principal for allowing me to loop with these scholars. This group of scholars enjoy learning new concepts, they absolutely love the hands-on science experiences, they love the fact that I am their teacher again and that means a lot to me.

The requested materials will help the classroom as a whole and me as their teacher.

I would like to make 5th grade science as fun and engaging as possible, as they learn by having fun, the content is retained, and it will help them excel on the state 5th grade STAAR. I am requesting a printer and a laptop so that I can provide effective instruction for various science stations, colored visuals to help reinforce new vocabulary words, new content, and assist with comprehension skills for all my scholars, especially my ELL students. Visual literacy is an effective tool for learning and helps my ELL scholars with improving English language proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening. These devices will also be used to assist with project-based learning, as we will need various projects and task cards printed. Project-based learning will provide an extension to the learning to help push the scholars to their fullest potential and expose them to STEM based learning, as well as careers in the STEM field.
