My Project
These Bee-Bots and Code and Go Mice are the perfect way to introduce coding to my special needs students who visit the library. They will learn coding by mashing direction buttons on the robot itself. They will be able to look at the problem of trying to get the robot from point A to point B, and try to figure out how many steps in each direction they have to program the robot to move, to get to their end goal. We can program them to go to a different letter of the alphabet to help them learn letters, or go to colors, shapes, numbers, etc.
These will not only help introduce basic STEM and coding to my students, but also help reinforce things they are learning in the classroom in a fun way.
Our library has had other robots such as Spheros, but those require much more advanced coding knowledge, and with this project, all of my students will be able to come in and learn coding and use robots when they visit. The Kleenex will help us have some tissue to start off the new year. Thank you for helping to make this experience possible for my students.
