My Students

My students are excited to learn and grow! Every day they enter the classroom with smiles and shining eyes...just wondering what we will explore and discover today. They are becoming independent learners and learning how to live within a community of learners.

My students bring joy into our classroom and into my heart each day!

I want to give them the world and love getting to know each one's unique gifts and talents. Many of my students are English Language Learners and need exposure to many different types of texts in order to be more successful students.

My Project

The books requested are quality mentor texts which will show my students that they can become great writers, like these authors. The stories will give examples of different styles and genres of writing that my students will be able to copy. Exposure to a variety of different types of authors will help my students see their potential as writers. As I read the books, students will be able to see how the author used a particular skill that I am teaching. The book will help them make a connection to the writing skill.

Writing is a vital part of their literacy instruction!

Seeing the end result of the writing process will help my students love writing and become better students. Fostering a love of writing will also help my students become better readers and more successful scholars.
