We Axolotl Questions!

Help me give my students the opportunity to learn about axolotls through real world exposure.

My Project

Last spring, my student inspired me by wearing a t- shirt that stated, “I axolotl questions” and that is exactly what I love about all my students.

My students are so inquisitive and eager to explore their questions.

Another thing I love about our school community is that we have so many adults that are eager to contribute. In fact, there is an auto body shop manager here in town who is an expert in aquarium tanks and axolotls. She is willing to donate an axolotl, help set up and maintain the tank, and furthermore, teach our students about them.

We’ve noticed in our library that our k-4 students are fascinated by axolotls and their magical, mystical qualities. They are part of the Minecraft world and also connect to the culture of our Hispanic community. We are eager to bring all these points together in our collaborative learning around the axolotl.

Along with the aquarium, students will research topics related to axolotls and display their findings in the library.

We can't wait to start learning about these amazing creatures!
