Together let’s help kids learn the love of writing and illustrating stories by putting the tools in their hands. As second graders, my students are so excited to learn how to read and write. With exposure to so many amazing stories, they are thrilled to start writing and illustrating their very own stories. In second grade we cover narrative, informational and opinion writing. My students need primary journals, writing workbooks, and markers to learn about and practice writing.
In second grade, students love to write stories and share them in our author’s chair!
After learning all about the writing process, becoming great editors and publishing our work, students get to celebrate by sharing their amazing writing with the class. After sharing their work, they are rewarded with a small treasure from our class treasure box. Students get so excited about the response from classmates that they never want to put their journals away.
Writing brings children so much joy. They are able to express themselves, make up their very own stories, share knowledge that they know or an opinion they are passionate about. It would be wonderful to have your support to help provide the tools for our second graders to become the best writers they can be.
