WE ARE NOT THROWING AWAY OUR SHOT! I am so excited to teach a group of bright, curious and exceptional gifted students in a self-contained gifted classroom. We work intentionally to make our classroom a cohesive, inclusive learning community that includes students from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds with multiple learning styles and needs.
My students are highly motivated by technology and interested in integrating technology in what we are studying in the classroom across all content areas as well as using technology to enhance presentations.
This year when we studied earth and space science, each student in the classroom created power points that included graphics fonts, online pictures, and animations. Their presentations featured main ideas, facts, and definitions.
In exploring the events leading up to the American Revolution this year, students created a time-line in Microsoft Word that included important people, places and events.
My students also enjoy using educational apps in the classroom that enrich, extend and supplement content across all curricula areas.
I am so proud of how eager my students have been to integrating technology and computer skills. Technology has been a wonderful asset in meeting the needs of all students.
My Project
My students are super excited about expanding and extending their learning and interests across curricula by integrating technology into their daily learning process. By including technology, I hope to help students further organize and enhance their ideas and research as well as build on their presentation skills! I'm excited to help them share their knowledge and showcase their creativity and enthusiasm for learning through the use of technology.
We would love to have Chromebooks in our classroom to afford us the opportunity to gain valuable, 21st-century technology skills, use online resources as well as expand our natural talent development.
Chromebooks in the classroom will provide the above and beyond experience that enriches and extends student learning.
