Help me give my students these perfect sensory items that will be used in our daily activities to help children with autism to self-regulate and to spark conversations about their feelings and those of the people around them.

My Project

As a special eduaction teacher, I would like my students to feel safe and comfortable in my Class room. The items in this cart will create a cozy and welcoming environment in during our daily activity in the classroom which is crucial for students with Autism.

These sensory bottles are perfect tool to help children self-regulate and to spark conversations about their feelings and those of the people around them!

Many students with Autism struggles with emotional regulations. Learning about emotions and developing strategies to mange them with sensory tools can help to reduce these difficulties.

My students are in prek and are curious and playful. They’re always ready to explore something new and love hands-on materials in the classroom. This year, we need more fidgets/ squishes/ sensory items for our calm corner, especially cozy materials that will last longer. My students also need a new rug where they can comfortably sit to regulate their emotions during their free time and work on their social emotional skills throughout the year. I’m also requesting florescent light covering, jungle theme decorations, paper lanterns, bulletin board wall decors, and other materials to keep them calm by creating jungle theme comfortable environment so they can focus on learning and understanding their social emotional skills. Thank you for your help in creating a safe and calm environment for my students with Autism.
