We are Too Wiggly to Learn

Help me give my students a few choices to sit and help them to focus on what they are trying to learn. We all work better when we are comfortable and can focus on our work.

My Project

Our classroom is a space specifically for students who need a little extra help to reach grade-level understanding. We would like to create an environment where they are able to focus, be comfortable, have some choices, and being in a mindset to put forth the extra effort we are asking of them. It is not an easy task for students to do as they come to our class for more support than they see their peers needing, We would like to make it as inviting as we can. Hopefully, with your help, we can do that.

These comfy chairs will provide a calming effect for our students who feel overwhelmed or overstimulated.

The "spinny" chair can have a stimulating effect on our students who are needing an outlet for some built up energy. We certainly work with students who communicate, with words and actions, that they need more opportunities for these outlets in their day. It would be a great asset to have these available in our classroom for them when they come to work on extra reading and/or math skills. Our goal is to strengthen each student's self confidence and understanding of themselves Having these options for them to assist in their individual sensory needs would absolutely aid in them strengthening their ability to focus and learn, which will ultimately increase their self confidence.
