This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a diverse group of first graders in a Title 1 school. They are each unique with different learning styles and interests. Despite their differences, they come to school each day with open minds and open hearts and are ready to tackle the day.
Their passion for learning and the desire to do well is what makes them so phenomenal.
My students are thinkers. They persevere and support each other when learning new concepts. They build each other up. They feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. These students have built relationships with not only me, but with each other. In our classroom, we are like a family. We laugh together, grow together, and encourage each other to be the best version of themselves that they can be.
My Project
My students face extreme hardships on a daily basis both in and out of the classroom which interferes with their learning. Not having basic supplies shouldn't be one of their worries. Having the basic classroom supplies would help these future leaders have the tools needed for academic success.
Interactive notebooks and authentic learning experiences play an important role in our classroom.
Having this requested Superbright construction paper, Write & Wipe dry erase markers, glue sticks, and crayons will bring their experiences to life. These materials will allow our future leaders to get their creative juices flowing and enjoy completing hands on activities without relying on dittos and boring workbooks.
Please consider making a difference in the lives of these future leaders.
