Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic kids with a love of learning. Over 90% of them come from low-income households, with parents struggling to pay rent and get food on the table. And yet, they still want to create, read, write, and learn!

During this pandemic, my students are sheltering in place with some basic classroom necessities, like crayons, paper, and books, to help them participate in class online.

I hope to meet their needs emotionally, as well as academically, by sharing more materials with them now, in the summer, and in the fall.

My Project

My students have worked so hard this year. They are Superkids! They have spent the year learning to read and write and create many wonderful masterpieces. I would like to honor them with an end of the year portfolio to hold all their special work that I have collected for them, a superhero cape and mask to demonstrate and continue using all their super reading and writing powers, and rewards for a job well done.

My students are superkids that deserve to show off their super powers and their work!

Each child will receive their own portfolio to document their years in elementary school, starting with our Kindergarten Collective Works. They can review their work to remember, reminisce and prepare themselves for first grade. And they can use the cape and mask for all their dramatic play.

The extra rewards are a way to say great job! Have a wonderful summer and keep learning!
