I will be teaching special education close to 40 years! 40 years is longer than most of my parents have been alive! LOL! There is nothing like loving what I am privileged to do every single day - TRYING to make a difference.
In many schools, classroom supplies can be pricey and hard to secure.
Without your help, there is only so much I can do to ensure my students have what they need. 99% of ‘my kids’ come from near poverty level homes. So, asking for classroom donations, like many teachers do, isn’t something that sits well with me.
My special education kids see other children in the building as the ‘GOTS’. The others ‘GOT’ cute backpacks and lunchboxes, bows in hair, best sneakers, name brand snacks, etc. With your support, I may not be able to buy them all they desire, but I can make this year one they will cherish. One where strong emotional bonds and academic successes are created. Beyond hoping they learn to read and write, I hope WE (with your donation) can help create GOOD HUMANS.
