This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kids learn a variety of skills and standards throughout their academic journey. My kids love to learn and are inquisitive. They like to ask for real life examples where they will be able to apply what they are learning. I want my kids to realize that many of the skills and standards they have been learning are, in fact, applicable to real life.

I want to teach my kids the art of sewing so that they can apply the skills and standards they have learned to make a quilt that tells a story, pillowcases, bags, or a BBQ apron, and so that they can alter clothes and maybe even design a piece of clothing.

I am asking for two Brother CS7000x sewing machines. Sewing creates and enhances many positives for children like problem solving, using their creativity and imagination, developing hand-eye coordination, perseverance and applying many of the standards they have learned in school. My kids will apply math, art, history/social science, English language arts and engineering standards into their sewing projects.

Sewing is applying everything you have learned into a finished product. Imagine all that my kids will experience with these two sewing machines.
