The students have especially enjoyed The Owl Diaries where the main character is absolutely adorable. I have to say, I was just as excited. \r\nHaving a new device has been amazing. It is dependable, so now there is continuity when I am teaching a guided lesson. Knowing that I will not have problems adding new applications or online platforms is such an improvement. My kids noticed the new device is faster than the old one. We are able to get to our destination on our device without delay. No more waiting for the color spinning circle!\r\nAll my students are grateful for your donation. You have made it possible for them to share how they solve Math problems. They are currently reading a new literature book, so as we annotate, they are happy to see that our device isn't freezing up or turning off. We were able to acquire a wonderful machine called an XTool. This machine can engrave any image on almost any surface. It has helped the students create artwork that will live on for years. They wrote a letter to their mothers for Mother's Day. We engraved the letters onto cutting boards. The mothers were very touched and several students reported that their mothers cried upon reading the letters. Please see image for an example of a letter. The students also created logos that we engraved on dog tags. The students were amazed by the power and endless possibilities of our XTool engraver. The drone always puts my students in a good mood. I love that they refer to book discussions as \"talking\" about books. Once we start our Book Talk and analysis of the books...they are eager to share their ideas.\r\nWe do whole group literature circles with the first book, \"Esperanza Rising.\" It lends itself to a very deep historical analysis, looking into figurative language, and overall to teach my kids to analyze. They are excited to know that they get to write margin notes on their very own copy of the book/s. \r\nParents appreciate that their kids are learning to annotate by writing margin notes on their own copy of the books we will be reading. One parent expressed to me that he loves that his daughter and the whole class is doing something in fourth grade that they will be doing in college.
