Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are wonderful and creative. As they grow in my classroom, I want to build on the whole-child. I want to see them flourish and become multifaceted students that are well-rounded and confident in knowing that they have many skills.

Sewing is a skill that can build self-confidence in knowing that you have a practical, valuable skill.

I don't want my students to just focus on the academics of school. I want to know that my students have the skills to be successful in life. Sewing is one of the practical skills that they will use for their lifetime and a skill that keeps on giving.
