We Are Rocking and Rolling Out Flexible Seating

My students need to move and feel comfortable when working. That is why they need new flexible seating (ball chairs and wobble chairs) that allows them to move as they work.

My Students

"We're Fantastic, We're So Cool, Now You Get It, Learning is Cool!" That is a cheer created by my last group of fantastic students. For the past five years, I have had the opportunity to teach 5th grade. These students are without a doubt are amazingly hard workers. No matter the circumstances or where they have migrated from, they have a smile on their face and a desire to learn.

Fifth grade is hard enough for many of my students because of their background, but I want to make our classroom an amazing place to be that has everything they need to learn and grow.

They require materials that allow them to be able to be overall stronger students. These students are full of life and promise! They just need the materials to help them be successful. I'm excited to see what they can do!

My Project

This year I am rolling out flexible seating! I'm excited to help my students feel more comfortable while working as well as give them more choice in the classroom. I would love to add to my classroom more options for my students to feel comfortable; such as exercise balls and rocking stools. My students would love being able to move and rock as they work, but sadly that can disrupt those around them.

These new seating options can really allow those students a chance to move and help the classroom as a whole be more productive.

These types of seats can be very expensive so any amount that can be donated means so much. These chairs will help so many students who pass through my room and will benefit those who have a case of the "wiggle-fidgets." These seats allow me to modernize my classroom for my students and their needs while adding to the seating options I already have in place. I am very excited to change up my classroom seating this year as research points to this being a great way to add comfort and improve productivity in the classroom.
