My students need leveled books to choose during independent reading time.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Wilson's classroom raised $199

My Students
My students are awesome! I teach at a Philadelphia Public School that qualifies for Title I funding. My entire class qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. Most of my students live in a single parent household and some of them are being cared for by a foster family or extended family members.
Despite the challenges my students face, they come each day with a great attitude.
Many of them have faced hardships that you would never want any child to ever experience. I provide a safe, nurturing environment where kids can learn and progress.
My Project
I have some children in my class that are beginning readers. They are so eager to read; but, my library has a very limited selection of books that are "just right" for them.
With this project, those students would be able to select leveled readers that are "just right" for them.
Leveled reading books help students to gain vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. If I had more books at my students level, they would be able to select their own books during our reading time. They would also have more variety; rather than reading the same texts over and over. Reading would be more fun in class!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
