My Project
This project will be providing math manipulatives for both our whole group and small group instruction. I teach in a Title I school; Title 1 schools are federally recognized as being in a lower income and underserved community. We are currently short on math manipulatives. What we do have is shared across the whole school. Often, I am unable to get enough for all my students. This will offer my students a chance to use their own set of manipulatives.
We are going to dive in hands first into our new math curriculum called iReady.
Many of these new lessons involve students using manipulatives to physically interact with the math and problem solve.
The manipulatives you will be helping to provide will make math fun for all of my students and help those who may be struggling to learn a new concept.
