Kindergartners love to learn! The students in my literacy classroom are vivacious students. They cannot wait to come to school each day to grow their brains.
In our departmentalized classroom, students participate in phonics lessons to build their reading and spelling skills as well as whole group literacy lessons to gain reading and listening comprehension.
Of course, my Kinders also love centers! During this part of the days, students rotate through personalized activities.
My students love taking academic risks. Their passion for leaning is my inspiration!
My Project
Small group time is so valuable in the elementary classroom! Students have the opportunity to work in a small setting with the teacher as well as participate in their own independent learning. Help me give my students interactive literacy stations so they can grow their own reading skills during station time. The Touch and Read word and sentence stations will allow students to have an opportunity to practice their phonics learning independently. The Build-A-Word Crayon Boxes are a great, multi sensory activity that helps students to see how words are built in action. And the Word Building Puzzles will help my struggling readers connect words to pictures, so everyone can have the opportunity to practice their skills independently.
Individualized stations are so important so students can receive just-right materials for their current knowledge.
With these stations, all of the students in my classroom would have the chance to work with high-quality stations that are colorful, engaging and (most importantly) academic.
Students who are excited and engaged in their learning make so much literacy growth. Please help to support the academic growth of the readers in my classroom!
