Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very enthusiastic about coming to school and learning!
They go to a low income school and a lot of students come to Kindergarten with little to no English and leave Kindergarten reading!
My students are mostly in small groups throughout the day. They go to centers, computers, independent work and my table. They LOVE the days that they get to choose where they work in the classroom! It allows my students to be able to pick the best spot for them to concentrate!
My students love to come to school to dance, have fun during recess, and share their life and stories with friends. They love learning how to read books and solve math problems!
My Project
My students need various items in our classroom. I love the idea of students signing in every morning by answering a "question of the day." I will use the magnets to help make this idea come to life. My students need self correcting puzzles, so they will be able to take their learning into their own hands and self-correct when needed. These puzzles benefit my ELL learners tremendously! I am asking for Velcro and classroom mailboxes so my students can organize their take home items to actively engage their families in their school learning!
My students go to school in a low income area and these items will benefit their early literacy skills.
I am also asking for lanyards that can be worn as name tags with PIN numbers (for lunch) or as an easy way for substitute teachers to get to know my students!
