This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are a small elementary school in east Baltimore that is housing about 50 Spanish speaking families and we do not have a person in the building to help translate for us to parents and students when they have concerns. These translators will help our families feel better about coming into the building. It’s be challenging trying to reach a live person over the phone at times. When families know they can come in and talk and we can respond faster it will make them feel equal and that they have a say. When parents and students come to the teacher or office we will be able to help them faster and right
