My students need the OSMO Genius Kit and accessories to exercise their knowledge in a fun, hands-on, expressive way. Students with Autism benefit greatly from learning and showing understanding in various outlets and fun ways!
I teach a self-contained Autistic class of middle school students. I am always looking for different ways for my students to learn and demonstrate their learning. I firmly believe that if a student is not learning the way we are teaching, then we need to teach the way the student learns.
My students need visuals to learn, which is why the Osmo is a great way to bring visuals into our classroom when we are learning basic skills.
They are great kids! They love coming to school. And like any middle school student, they love iPads and technology! I love when I can blend together technology and learning in a fun way to make students excited about their learning.
My students have Autism. They are not different. They learn differently. The Osmo can benefit us greatly to make their learning successful.
My Project
Students in my self-contained Autism class love learning in fun, hands-on and creative way. The Osmo system will be beneficial to students' learning because it will give them a fun outlet to learn and demonstrate their understanding. We already use an iPad a majority of the day for communication and expression, so to pair the iPads up with the Osmo systems will almost be natural step to our instruction in the classroom.
Technology is so important in the classroom and the fundamental skills that the Osmo offers (letters and numbers, shapes, matching and so much more) are essential for my students as they transition into the real-world.
Please help us bring this hands-on learning into a classroom where students are not different, they just learn in different ways!
