My Students

I teach in an inner-city public school. I am currently a 4th-grade teacher in an integrated classroom. The students vary in abilities, strengths, and academic levels. We work very hard to accommodate the needs of each of these children, not just academically but also emotionally. We strongly believe that these students need to build relationships and have a fun and safe place to learn. We strive to do so both in and out of the classroom by hosting community engagement events and other activities. These students work so incredibly hard despite their hardships, I am just trying to make their living from 8-2:30 a little easier. The pandemic has created more than a 6-foot physical distance between us but we are still growing and learning every day!

My Project

One of my student's favorite time of the day is when we get to work in small groups. Math centers students get to work on skills that they just need a little extra time understanding. During centers have time for students to play while learning is always a bonus.

These games will help engage students in their understanding of complex math standards.

These activities will make a great addition to my students' choice boards and aid them in a well rounded application and understanding of the 4th grade standards.

I am excited to give students opportunities to explore math in new ways by using these materials.
