We Are Going to See a Play!

My Students

The Buttercups are a busy and loving bunch. They enjoy making and sharing snack, practicing the bead stair, exploring the loft, and signing "The Ants Go Marching."

The Buttercup Butterfly room consists of 20 students ranging from ages 3 through 5.

Some of the students have been together for two years. We are hybrid Montessori Head Start program in our second year. Although we are growing stronger every day; we are still building our classroom with materials and interesting works. All of the Buttercups love Mo Willems's Piggie and Elephant books.

My Project

As I noted above, the Buttercups LOVE Elephant and Gerald. These books teach young children how to deal with social conflict. Young children are constantly negotiating how to meet their own needs as well as how to fit in a new community. The entire pre-k floor (60 students total) would love a chance to see Elephant and Piggie live!

All of the pre-k students at my school would benefit from seeing these positive literature characters solve real-life problems that affect their lives too!

Experiencing a play will be an invaluable opportunity for my students.
