We Are Going Fishing!

My Students

My class is a very special group of young students.  They all participate in the THRIVE program within the school.  The THRIVE program stands for Transformational experience, Healthy lifestyle, Responsible risks, Interdependence, Vocational employment, and Educational success.  

The Thrive Program was created to provide an individualized and student-centered high school experience that ensures meaningful outcomes for our students.

 The program consists of rigorous academic content as well as well-rounded vocational and daily living skills to help prepare our students for their future.

My students have a zest for life and school that is unmatched.  They are eager to learn new things and are the hardest workers I know.  I am excited about providing them with new and fun opportunities to grow both academically and in life.

My Project

A fish tank can be a great addition to our classroom for several reasons! Taking care of pets is a great skill for my students to learn. They can learn to help care for pets in their home, or even prepare to have pets of their own. We have several class jobs, and this would be a great addition to help teach a variety of job skills to our students. The more job skills they can learn, the more likely they are to be able to find employment in the future.

The combination of color changing bubbles, moving fish, and gentle hum make a fish tank a great addition to our classroom.
