We Are Fair-Ly Excited for Science Fair!

My Project

Our school was recognized at the Science Fair last year for our creative and special projects by the state of Massachusetts. Our students were so proud and excited about the work that they completed.

This year, we want to do more, do better, and think bigger.

We are allowing students to think outside of the box and design projects that are more interesting than volcanoes with baking soda-- a tried and true but nowhere near novel experiment to do at Science Fair. The projects require supplies that we do not have in our classrooms right now, but with your help we can supply the students with the tools needed to succeed. Students have dreamt up projects including measuring air pressure using an air pump and ball gauge, utilizing electric paint and diodes to test independent variables within the paint, investigating the effects of baby oil on a variety of makeups and the growth of bacteria on lashes after using baby oil to remove makeup, and biology projects such as those that test Daphnia magna and Tetrahymena. These projects are not cheap and need more supplies than what we currently have. We want to foster scientific curiosity, and the only way we can see that come to fruition is with your help.

I believe in DSA students. As the science department lead teacher I have created a master list of the items that will be used in grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 for Science Fair. Please help us to fund this project so that we may be able to compete creatively in the Science Fair this year!
