We Are Excited to Show Off Our Creative Talents

My Students

The majority of my Pre-kindergarten children live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn! We are a Blue Ribbon Title I School! Our students come to school every day eager to learn, and have a very unique love for learning. They enjoy listening to read aloud books, and exploring with a variety of hands on materials. “What new materials will we be using today , Mrs. Laker?” This is a question that is asked daily of my students. I want to give my students everything I can in order for them to succeed and have a love for learning!

My Project

The materials we are asking for will give our pre-k students a wonderful start to their first experience in a school setting. All of these materials will be utilized by our students’ and will give them the confidence to be themselves and produce wonderful works of art, and themes unit of study projects for us to display proudly in our classroom for all to admire! The colored construction paper will be used by our students to create individual art projects along with creating their individualized class work. The crayons will be utilized within all of our writing, math, block, science, and library centers around our room! Each child is encouraged to draw and write what they are working in within each center they visit through the day. The sentence strips will come in handy so the teachers’ can scribe what each child says about their work and it can be displayed around our classroom for all to see! With your help this will become possible! Our students’ mean the world to us and with your help we will be able to make their start to our school year exciting, engaging, and most of all giving our students’ the love of learning!
