This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thanks to great donors like you, our classroom library has a variety of books: biographies, books in Spanish, books by different authors, but not many books on diversity and emotions.

I would like my students to have rich literature that teaches them about the beautiful diversity at their school, community, and country, and about the different emotions we all experience and how others cope with these.

This year I have students from Cambodian backgrounds, different Central American countries, Mexico, and those from African-American decent. It's beautiful to see. So I want to help them appreciate diversity.

My little second-graders are still learning about the different emotions they have. Literature is a great way to help learn about their different emotions.
