This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students attend elementary school in East Boston.Our student population is diverse in every sense of the word. We have families from all over the world and many of our students are bilingual. They are curious and eager learners who love to coming to school every day. Our school is considered low-income and has been hit hard with budget cuts for a few years in a row and therefore, we can't afford many of the materials we deserve. Our families and teachers are deeply engaged and committed to ensuring their children receive the best education possible. This year my Inclusion Special Education classroom includes a variety of different special needs.

My Project

This year my students with special needs need supplies to help them publish beautiful books they can be proud of. From markers and paint to blank books, we need everything it takes to become authors and illustrators.

This year my class will publish a wide variety of books: personal narratives, book reviews, how-to books, and all about books.

With your help, we can make these books things that my students are sure to be proud of for years to come! For many of my students who are English Language Learners and have special needs. these art supplies will allow them to access writing and storytelling through art.
