This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in the inner-city and are mostly English Language Learners from low-income families. Our school works as a team to create the best learning environment possible. The school's philosophy focuses on problem-solving, leadership, and collaboration skills with an emphasis on 21st-century skills.

My students are self-motivated young people who are eager to learn.

They learn from the mistakes they make and are always willing to try. The majority of my students will be the first to attend college in their family.

My Project

This hands-on project will allow my students to explore and help find their talents and abilities along with the courage and discipline to fulfill them. All the instruments requested will be put to use immediately.

Music education is important because it gives students a way to connect with other people.

My students are social, and it's vital to encourage them to build relationships by providing them experiences to share with each other. Music can be a gateway to students building their confidence. It can also serve as a gateway to collaborating. There is an instrument for everyone to play. My students will be excited to use their new classroom musical instruments.
