This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school's motto is "Every child, every day, every way experiencing success" In my combo classroom, made up of both fourth and fifth grade students, we become successful in our academics, leadership skills, and respecting others every day!

My school is a Title I school in Nebraska and is located in a poverty stricken neighborhood.

My class is made up with many different cultures and learning styles. Many of my students have faced obstacles in their life. It truly amazes me how they are able to put everything aside and come to school each and every day eager to learn!

My Project

One area my students struggle with is staying focused while working independently. My students would benefit from headphones because it will allow my students to focus while working on the computer. My students are in a multi-grade level classroom and they can be easily distracted while I am working with the other grade level.

Students often use the computers to review math and reading skills.

These headphones will especially help my students who struggle to read and need the text read to them. Helping them focus will allow my students to grow in their academics. This grant will be a tremendous resource in my classroom!
