My class consists of 8 amazingly funny and sweet students! My students love being hands-on, active and engaged at all times. They come to school each day ready to grow socially, emotionally and academically!
My self contained kindergarten class is made up of students with mild to moderate special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language Impairment as well as behavioral and sensory issues.
My special learners require a variety of learning tools to help their social and emotional needs throughout the day. For some, not being able to communicate their wants and needs can lead to uncontrollable emotions and outbursts.
My Project
Your donations of these sensory materials requested will help create a calm and relaxing environment for my special learners.Sensory balls, wiggle seats, and stability balls are all fundamental tools my students can use to reach a "calm" state of mind. The wiggle seats and stability balls are exciting tools that improve focus and concentration while allowing active students to be flexible with their bodies
There are moments where the everyday tasks during the school day can be overwhelming.
It is important for my students to have sensory experiences throughout the day to aide them in developing the skills for success as well as helping them to respond to how they are feeling appropriately.
