Help me give my students a classroom culture that is inclusive, safe, and affirming.
Students will have access to a calm corner, books as well as items to work on their job skills through a coffee cart program.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is designed to provide students with special needs equitable access to education and opportunities to engage with and understand racial and social justice issues. It aims to create a safe, inclusive environment that promotes personal growth, self-expression, and real-world job readiness. Through structured activities, collaborative projects, and skill-building experiences (such as utilizing the Kuwait machine), students will gain confidence, develop critical life skills, and prepare for future employment—while being given the same level of opportunity and respect as their peers. Profits that are made from from the fundraising component of this project will go to help any student who has limited resources with things such as supplies, and/or anything else school related to ensure they are able to access all of the same opportunities as their peers.
We will continue to work on educating students with special needs about racial and social injustice in an accessible, age-appropriate manner.
