My kindergarten through second grade students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day despite the challenges faced in and out of the classroom. Majority of my students come from two housing communities and qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
My students are the next generation of future engineers, scientists, mathematicians, doctors, and computer programmers.
Our school creed states, "I vow to always try my best embracing all that is new. I will work hard. I will succeed, in everything I do."
My students are learning how to be creative, how to communicate, how to collaborate, and how to think critically. It is my goal to equip my students with the the skills necessary to meet the demands of a globally competitive workforce.
The Osmo Genius Kits will make a difference in the lives of my students by teaching them how to persevere and by opening the door for career exploration.
Coding teaches students to become logical thinkers and problem solvers.
The Osmo Genius Kits consists of tangrams, words, newton, masterpiece and numbers. Tangrams will help my students to become better visual thinkers as they use shapes to make figures. Words will prepare my students to become better spellers. Newton deals with the world of physics and allows the students to be creative while problem solving. Masterpiece will also bring out the creative side of my students as they use technology to create works of art. Lastly, numbers will help my students to achieve success in math as they practice number recognition and addition/subtraction.
