My students are creative, thoughtful and ready to learn! I teach at a public charter school in Chula Vista, California. Many of my students choose to come to our school because traditional public school has left them behind. Our program personalizes learning so students are able to have voice and choice in my classroom. Many of my students are artistic hands-on learners who thrive when they are able to interact with their learning. They are an incredible group of students, and I am so lucky to get to watch them learn and grow in my classroom every day!
My Project
All of my students come to kindergarten excited about learning how to read. My students are hands-on learners and the worksheets that I have for teaching them foundational reading skills do not set my students up for success. These materials will provide my students with a hands-on option when engaging in different activities that will help them learn how to read. My students will be able to use the magnetic letters and letter tiles to help them build words and manipulate word families. The AlphaTales books will provide my students with engaging read alouds as they work on important phonics skills.
