My Students
My students love coming to school every day because learning is active, fun, creative, and hands-on! They love creating works of art, technology, and engineering. Their curiosity is in everything they do.
My students are multi-cultural, multi-language, multi-racial, and have multi-interests.
They are a true melting pot that represents our global lives!
We are an innovative STEM integrated curriculum school located in a small neighborhood with high parent and community involvement. My students get to help design project-based units of discovery and inquiry throughout the year.
My Project
So much of our learning in first grade is done on the floor! We need a clean place to sit, crawl around, and learn with our whole bodies!
Our classroom is covered in cold, hard floor tiles that make it hard on our bodies to be comfortable while we are learning.
A simple carpet will bring colorful joy and warmth to our learning space.
This carpet is great because it also helps my students keep and respect personal space while being close to their peers. Each color box allows just the right amount of room when the whole class is on the rug!
